Buddy's Campsite is owned and operated by Daniel Boone & Christinea Beane — Christian folk who love Jesus, riding in the Black Hills, and making new lifelong biker friends.

Our passion for faith and motorcycle riding brought us to relocate to Sturgis, SD in the summer of 2023. Our home is over 100 years old and needs a lot of love — so we transformed our backyard into a private tent campground. We named it after our dog, Buddy.

We're open just 21 days a year for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Every detail is personal — because this is our home, and we want it to feel like yours.

We're located in downtown Sturgis, SD — just two blocks from Main Street where all the biker saloons, concerts, street vendors, and restaurants are located. No DaBus, no shuttle stress.

Motorcycle parking is available on the street in front of our home. Limited free parking for larger vehicles with trailers is available on-property on a first come, first serve basis. We also have an overflow lot at our neighbor's property available for a small fee.

Location & Getting Here

Just 2 blocks — less than a 5-minute walk. We're right in downtown Sturgis, South Dakota. You can walk to the biker saloons, street vendors, live concerts, and restaurants on Main Street without ever needing to worry about parking, shuttles, or DaBus. It's one of our biggest advantages over campgrounds located miles outside of town.
Nope — and that's the whole point! Buddy's Campsite is a private backyard campground owned and operated by Daniel and Christinea Beane (and their boxer, Buddy). We transformed our 100-year-old home's backyard into a cozy, intimate tent oasis. We cap it at 13 total camp spaces so it never feels overcrowded. Think of it as staying with biker friends who happen to live 2 blocks from Main Street.

Booking, Rates & Payments

Our Deluxe Tent Package is $150 per night for the 86th Sturgis Rally in 2026. Stay 5 or more nights and the rate drops to $130 per night. This includes a premium 10×14 tent with 6.5ft center stand-up height, queen size air mattress(s), 110v power outlet, phone charging ports, interior lighting, night stand, 100qt cooler, oscillating fan, towels, pillows, sheets, and blankets — plus access to all property amenities.
💡 Heads UpFull payment is due by May 1, 2026. A 10% deposit secures your spot. No refunds after May 1st, no exceptions.
The easiest way is to text Daniel at (865) 242-0958. He responds to texts faster than calls. If you call, leave a voicemail and he'll call back as soon as possible. You can also email buddyscampsite@gmail.com. Spaces are limited, so don't wait — the Rally fills up fast every year.
A 10% deposit is required to hold your reservation. Full payment must be received by May 1, 2026. After May 1st, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances. A 10% cancellation fee applies to all cancellations. All refund requests must be submitted by email to buddyscampsite@gmail.com.
The official 86th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally runs Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 16, 2026. Buddy's Campsite is open for select pre-rally dates as well — contact Daniel to confirm exact availability and opening date for 2026.
You can book as many nights as you need — we don't require you to stay the full rally. Contact Daniel to check availability for your specific dates. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility you'll have.

Amenities & Comfort

Yes! We have 2 showers on the property available to all guests at no extra charge. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer are all provided. We also have an indoor bathroom and a couple of porta-potties on site. Visitors (non-guests) are not permitted to use the showers.
Yes! We have an 18ft × 4ft above-ground round pool — perfect for cooling off after a long ride through the Black Hills. Included for all guests at no extra charge.
Every guest has access to: free coffee, showers & bathrooms, WiFi, free popcorn, ice machine, full kitchen use, BBQ grill with propane, outdoor pool, lockers with key & lock, karaoke machine, zero gravity massage chair, and laundry on site. Power outlets are included with every tent space.

Motorcycle & Vehicle Parking

Motorcycle parking is available on the street in front of our home at no extra charge. The property is fully gated with a privacy fence and 24/7 security cameras monitoring your bike around the clock. Plus, Buddy the 75lb boxer patrols the campground regularly.
Limited free parking for larger vehicles with trailers is available on-property on a first come, first serve basis. We also have an overflow lot at our neighbor's property available for a small fee. Call or text Daniel at (865) 242-0958 ahead of time to check availability.
No — visitors must park their motorcycles or vehicles on the street. On-property parking is reserved for registered guests only. Visitors are welcome until 10:00 PM, but cannot use the showers.

Pets & Buddy the Dog

Yes, dogs are welcome! We're dog lovers ourselves — the campsite is named after our 9-year-old boxer mix, Buddy. All pet waste must be picked up by the owner and disposed of in the trash. Please note: cats are not permitted.
Buddy is our 9-year-old boxer mix and the heart of this campsite. He loves meeting new people and dogs, gives great cuddles, and is basically the campground's unofficial ambassador. His favorite snacks are peanut butter and bacon dog treats. If you're missing your pup back home, Buddy will be more than happy to fill that void.

Rules, Check-In & Policies

Check-in is at 2:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM. A $20 late check-out fee will be charged for any check-out after 11 AM. Your name must be on the reservation to check in.
No campfires and no fireworks during the Motorcycle Rally. Meade County Ordinance prohibits any open fire during the rally. The BBQ grill with propane is a great alternative for cooking!
No smoking inside tents or home. A $250 service fee will be assessed if this policy is violated. Please be respectful of the property and fellow campers.
Yes! Visitors are welcome at Buddy's Campsite. However, visitors must vacate the premises by 10:00 PM and must park their motorcycles or vehicles on the street. Visitors are not permitted to use the showers.
We take your safety seriously. The property features a gated privacy fence and 24/7 security cameras monitoring your motorcycle and campsite. Lockers with key & lock are available at no charge to store your valuables. And of course, Buddy the boxer patrols with us regularly.
Daniel and Christinea are on site and genuinely care about your experience. Call or text (865) 242-0958 for anything you need. Business hours are 8 AM–8 PM. An emergency number is also posted on the front door of the office.

About the Sturgis Rally

The 86th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally runs August 7–16, 2026. It's a 10-day event that draws hundreds of thousands of riders from around the world to the Black Hills of South Dakota — one of the largest motorcycle gatherings on the planet.
Yes — the rally itself is free to attend. There are no tickets or entry fees to cruise Main Street, enjoy the atmosphere, or visit vendors. Your main costs will be lodging, food, drinks, and fuel. Book accommodations as early as possible — spots like ours fill up fast.
The Black Hills are a biker's paradise. Top rides include Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road, Spearfish Canyon, Boulder Canyon, and Vanocker Canyon. Local gems like Bear Butte, Buffalo Chip, Full Throttle, and The Knuckle are also worth hitting. Since we're only 2 blocks from Main Street, you can ride out early and be back for a dip in the pool by afternoon.
South Dakota does not require helmets for adult riders (18+). However, helmet laws vary in neighboring states, so check the rules for your full route. Riding smart and defensively is always recommended — the roads get very busy during rally week.
Very crowded! The town of Sturgis has a normal population of about 7,000 people, but swells to 500,000+ riders and visitors during the rally. That's why our location — 2 blocks from Main Street — is such a game-changer. No shuttles, no parking stress, just walk out the gate.
